The 1ST Entrepreneur Scholarship Application Instructions |
| 1. |
Purpose |
| |
To reward applicants who have demonstrated academic excellence or quality students with financial needs. |

| 2. |
Target |
| |
The scholarship is applicable to British Columbia high school or university students whose ancestors are originally from Taiwan or nominated by a TCCBC member. |
| |
|
| 3. |
Size of Scholarship Prize and Number of Awards Allotted |
| |
The size of the scholarship will be determined annually by TCCBC. For the Class of 2009, the total money awarded to all recipients will be $5000 CND. The scholarship awarded to each university undergraduate will be $1000 for a total of 3 recipients; the scholarship awarded to each high school student will be $500 CND for a total of 4 recipients. |

Applicant Criteria |
| |
i) Demonstrate a basis for financial need.
II) For high school applicants, a minimum average of 80%.
For university applicants, a minimum GPA average of 3.0.
III) Exhibit interest in the activities of TCCBC or related associations. |

| 5. |
Recommendations |
| |
Applicants must satisfy the following recommendations:
Recipients should remain in contact with TCBCC after start of the academic school year.
Upon graduation, recipients are encouraged to join TCBCC and provide continued support. |

| 6. |
Timetable |
| |
i) Applications will be accepted from now until the 28th of February.
II) Initial selection for interview will be made in March.
III) From April 1 to April 20, selected applicants will be asked for interviews with committee.
iv) Full list of winners will be announced on April 30th and published in the “World Journal.”
v) Recipients will be receiving their award during May of 2010 at the “TCBCC GALA.” |

Required Documents: |
| |
Applicants must provide the following documents:
i) Filled out application form (available online)
II) A copy of the applicant’s resume
III) A copy of the applicant’s academic transcript for the most recent school year
Applicants are responsible for their own applications. If an application is missing any of the above documents and/or received past the deadline, it will not be accepted. No exceptions. |

Selection Process |
| |
A selection committee will be formed to carefully review applications and conduct interviews before making the final decision.
The face-to-face interview process is required; applicants unable to make the interview will not be considered for the scholarship. |
