November 2009 Award Certificate
Many leaders of the Greater Vancouver Taiwanese Community formed the “Greater Vancouver Taiwanese Community Typhoon Morakot Relief Committee” as a response to the Typhoon Morakot disaster. President Chang of Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in BC was appointed as the leader of this Relief Committee.
Thanks to the compassionated help of Greater Vancouver Taiwanese Communities, many donations have been made in hope to help Typhoon Morakot victims. The grand total donation amount is CD$267,855.47. Donation receipts are already mailed to all donators.
TCCBC has gathered cash donation of $6114.63 from the two following fundraising events. One was Fund Soliciting held on August 22 ~ 23 at Aberdeen centre Richmond. Another one was Fundraising Concert held on August 29 at Vancouver Taiwanese Presbyterian Church. TCCBC has donated the amount of $6114.63 to Ministry of the Interior Taiwan through Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Vancouver. Therefore, Commissioner Mr. Wu granted a certificated of award to appreciate TCCBC’s donations.
December 2009 Certificate of Appreciation
In response to “Love Taiwan the 12 Development – Green Project”, Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in BC has donated $1000 Canadian dollars to demonstrate TCCBC’s support towards this project. Commissioner Mr. Wu specially granted a certification to appreciate TCCBC’s compassion and help in making donation regarding this project.

President Jacob Lai is appointed the Commissioner of OCAC
Jacob Lai, ex-President of TCCBC, is appointed the commissionerof Overseas Compatriot Affairs Commission. Since immigrating toCanada in 1991, Mr. Lai has worked for the World News Journal inBritish Columbia and was the 10th president of TCCBC.
Ex-President Lai’s kind-hearted and warm personality will surely suit him for the job and garner public support.

been praised by the government and mainstream society ever since its
inception. Ex-President Lin has once again brought honor to TCCBC.
Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce The 1ST Entrepreneur Scholarship
Applicant Criteria:
i) Demonstrate a basis for financial need. II) For high school applicants, a minimum average of 80%. For university applicants, a minimum GPA average of 3.0. III) Exhibit interest in the activities of TCCBC or related associations.
Winners will receive their awards at the TCCBC GALA May 2010.
