TCCBC is a member chapter of the Taiwan Entrepreneurs and Investors Association of Canada, the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of North America, and the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, connecting members in B.C. with more than 30,000 fellow members around the world.
Mandate
To encourage and promote trade and business in Canada within the B.C. Taiwanese community;
To consolidate the strengths and experiences of each individual member and to explore investment and business opportunities in Canada;
To promote cooperative and mutually beneficial business relationships among members;
To establish a forum for business related information and opinion exchange among the corporate, entrepreneurial, academic, and public sectors in Canada and Taiwan;
To uphold business ethics and honour; to advocate and protect members' business rights in Canada society;
To act as a representative voice for the Taiwanese business community in the local community, with Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments and with the Taiwanese Government.
Organization
The Association is under the stewardship of a 21 member board, elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the membership. The executive committee is comprised of a President, two Vice-Presidents, one Secretary-General, and one Chief Financial Officer, all elected from the Board of the Directors. There are five sub-committees that plan and implement the various functions of the Association, each chaired by a Director of the Board appointed by the President. There is a full-time Coordinator to assist the Association in running day-to-day operations. A Board meeting is held at least once a month. The AGM is held in June every year. TCCBC publishes an Annual Yearbook.
